The Southwest Gun Club in McComb, MS is conducting a CMP M1 Garand Clinic on May, 30, 2009. We have M1 Rifles and ammunition available for this event. The shooting phase of this clinic will be a Garand Match Course "A". All participants will fire a Garand Match at this event.
Participation in the clinic will complete the firing and club membership requirements for purchase of an M1 Rifle, other surplus rifles and ammunition from the CMP. You will get the following for the $40 registration fee:
1. Use of a M1 Rifle
2. Ammunition to shoot the firing phase
3. Instruction on the operation of the M1 rifle
4. Use of the rifle sling and proper shooting positions
5. Extensive instruction on disassembly, cleaning, reloading and ammunition types safe to use in the M1 rifle
6. Coaching on the line
7. A one year trial membership in the Southwest Gun Club. This gives the clinic participant the right to draw rifles, pistols and ammunition for Southwest Gun Club events for one full year
Shooters under the age of 18, will pay no fee but will be expected to join our gun club for a fee of $10.00. Participants under 18 years old will not be able to purchase a rifle from the CMP. There will be a limited number of shooters allowed to shoot this event. Pre-registration is recommended. Those that are not pre-registered will be allowed to participate, if there is available range space.
