Once I am able to find some handles for my Lee six cavity mold (TL-356-124-2R) I'll officially be making boolits!

I've been reading everything I could find on this site about Rooster Jacket Lube. They recommend it for loads under 1000 fps. I was planning on loading my boolits over approx. 3.5-3.9 grains of Bullseye. Another person told me his load of 3.5 grains Bullseye w/ same boolits were running on average around 1024 fps.

Does anyone have any experience pushing boolits around 1000 fps using the Rooster tumble lube? I want to reduce smoke and avoid LLA lube if possible but not if I get substantial leading.

It works to 1200 or a bit more for me in carbines. Don't recall chronying any pistols loads with it, but it works fine with what I have shot.

I use it in .38 and .45 for all my competition loads, but they are 850 fps top end. I found I had to do 2 coats. Probably because I dry them spread out on a plastic sheet. If I followed the directions I might be able to get by with a single coat.
