Just picked up a Lyman Ideal 45 Lubricator & Sizer this weekend at a gun show. Came with 6 dies, and as many top punches.

3 don't show on the charts on the castpics site. They are all 3 made with round tops on the end that fits the lubesizer, and all three have the numbers stamped along the edge of the center portion, rather than on the end of the stub that they attach to the machine with, as per the Lyman top Punches.

The numbers are 291, 412, and 414.

Anyone able to cross reference these numbers?

291 I would assume to fit the Lyman 311291, a 30 cal RN boolit. Does it look to be around 30 cal? No help on the other 2.

I might be wrong but I think the top punches numbered like that are RCBS.

Lyman mold #311291 takes top punch 465. I can't find the numbers 291,412 or 414 in the Lymam cast bullit handbook ca. long time ago. There is 290 and 411. Both for 7mm bullits. I could find no such numbers in the 2008 RCBS catalog.

perhaps the 414 would be for the 311414....maybe surf the cast pics section for a while.

The round ends were made a long time ago by Ideal and I think they were made to match the boolit number then. Their the same as Lyman but older and I will check my Ideal book and see if their listed.
Ok, #291 is for 311291, The 414 is for a 311414 and im researching the 412.

Ideal did make a bunch of the round tops.

Those round top punches look about correct. The style and placement of the stamping matches, too.

#412 may fit 280412.
