Sold off the Encore pistol in 44 mag, bought a contender G2 frame w/ 13" bbl in 30 Bellm. It is 1 of only 2 bottleneck cartridges allowed in Illinois for deer hunting( the other is 300 whisper) It started out using 444 brass that is trimmed and reformed (30 steps according to Mike Bellm the ctg inventer) but you can use 7mm BR and blow the neck forward then trim to 1.4" case length. I like the G2 better then the Encore because the hammer has the centerfire/rimfire selector and it is smoother in the trigger. Full house loads are 125gr @2380fps and they kick less then the 44:drinks:

Side note; just got back from meeting Mike Bellm on a country road to buy a set of reloading dies. (he was in Illinois for Easter and headed to Tx for a gun show). Great guy.

I was looking at that cartridge. It is featured on his website and was thinking about sending in my 300 whisper (T/C full bull custom Encore) to have it rechambered. Keep posting and let me know how it shoots.
