OK, this is for the english majors.
In my dictionary I find cast, casts, and casting, but not casted. It's always seemed odd to say, "I cast a hundred bullets" for the past tense, but "I casted a hundred bullets" seemed worse. The New Heritage Dictionary does not even have the word "casted", ergo, it is not a word. "I cast my net upon the waters" always seemed OK also for present tense or past tense. So, I usually resort to something like "I poured a couple hundred".
What say you all?
