Can 454 Casull dies be used to reload 45 Colt ammuntion transparently?

I don't see why not. A lot of die sets for the .454 contain dies clearly marked 45 Colt.

YES,
The only drawback is that the Casull dies may not crim the 45lc. as the 454 is 1/10" longer

You sure can, in fact the 454 dies will put a tighter squeeze on the casing so that heavy boolits won't jump crimp as bad.

Like was stated...you can't crimp with the 454 die. My Dillon for 45 colt loading is set up with a 454 sizer, 45 colt seater and a 45acp crimp die.:Fire:

If you have access to a lathe, turn an 1/8" off the bottom of the crimping die. If not, grind 1/8" off.

My Redding dies have a washer that is the exact thickness for switching between the 45 LC and 454 Casull. The dies are basically 45 LC dies to be used with the washer for 454 Casull. I have Redding dies for 38 Special and .357 Magnum that are setup the same way. I have a Lee Crimping die for the crimp.
