I bought a used (Denver) Redfield 2-7 scope and found that it had a parallax problem. After sorting through the scope repair companies on the internet I sent it to Iron Sight Inc. in Tulsa.
They charge a flat fee of $70 for their service, which includes labor and return postage. When it came back, close to their stated turn-around time, it looked and worked like brand new. The list of services done read, "rebuilt variable power erector shell, replaced lens and/or lenses, clean all lenses, reseal and purge with nitrogen, check windage and elevation on collimator, set parallax at 100 yards, check power ring through power inrease and decrease for repeat on collimator, replaced erector lens, and completed refurbish." Sounds like a lot for the money!
Iron Sight did not charge for the erector lens that they replaced. I noticed that the technician signed her name (Rhonda) on the repair slip. I had talked to one of the companies I did NOT use on the phone, I believe with a Mr. Gunga Din. I strongly suspected he wanted to send my scope to India! To misquote an old poem, "I like Americans, they give their erector cells free."
