Sundog:

I found your 50 gr IMR 7383 with 168 gr bullet for 30-06 in the archives. I am using the load with a 175 FMJBT boolit. LOA is 3.384" to feed from magazine. Using Lee 3.4 dipper, IIRC it is a bit under 50. All works well. Very slight compression, no pressure signs. The primer still has well rounded edges. I am shooting it in a restored (mostly 03A3) Springfield. I am sighted in at 300 M. Will shoot for group soon. Thanks for the load data.

Your milage may vary (use standard precautions for 7383)

Maven:

This is the notification that I spoke of. I was looking at Jeff Bartlett's site. 7383 is $10.00/lb (ouch).

I've used 52gr behind a 147fmj for about 2500 fps in the 30-06. Not exactly the top speed for a 150, but very consistent. I bought my 7383 from Hi-tech back at $24 per 7 lbs jug. The times they are a changin, and not for the better when it comes to powder prices.

Jeffrey, yessir, that's my load. It doesn't get any better! How about a range report when you get the groups shot?
