You have 2 1lb ingots, is there anway to tell the difference between ww and linotype lead ? I have both but got mixed together.

Smack them against each other and look at the deformations. Whichever is deformed the least is linotype.

drop them on a concrete floor and notice the different ring when they land

The linotype ingot will break if struck with a hammer, the WW ingot will not.

It would be difficult if not impossible to scratch Lino with your fingernail. WW you can scratch, not easy like pure lead but still can. I mark mine with a magic marker when done.

Take the Ingots drop them on concrete what ever one rings loader is Lino.

put a ball bearing between the two, and wack one with a hammer(pinching the ball bearing between the two like the baloney in a sandwich), examine the dents in each block, the one with the deep dent is the WW

All above are great ideas.... The drop method- Pure lead goes thud...WWs go ding or dong.... lino goes ting or ring... harder the alloy the higher the pitch.
