Stick lube; less sticky

After good results with TL, I have decided to broaden my horizons and explore stick lubes. Dealing with the gummed up seater die was a drag and so was roll lubing. So far, have tried BAC and have had good results but finding that it is sticky and storing in bulk causes the lube to stick to the other boo's.

Have never tried 50/50 or 2500 and I am thinking about giving it a try. Is 2500 less sticky or stiffer than BAC? Less inclined to stick to the other boo's? How about 50/50?

I can't comment on 2500, but I've used the BAC and 50/50. The BAC is just 50/50 with some carnuba added, so they are both sticky.

Sticky is good.....it keeps the lube in the boolit grooves!

i have not tried those lubes yet, but they are on the way
do you have a lube heater?
if so, thats what i like to use.....no sticky!
lars carnuba red would be a good one to try
i have also had good results with rooster HVR
my lubed boolits sit out in the open for months, no hair, dirt, or dust collects to them
give them a try if you have, or can get a lube heater!

Or you dust your lube sized bullets with a light dusting of corn starch.

I use 2500. It's sticky and not conducive to bulk storage at all. I stand them up side by side...Ray

With the exception of Carnauba Red, I prefer sticky lubes. I get better accuracy and less (to no) leading with them.

I tried the BAC, and really like it pretty well.:-D It's a lot less sticky than regular lubes. Then I got a heater and switched to Carnuba Red. I'll probably never use anything else.:Fire: Shot a bunch of 9mm loads today and cleaned my Cougar when i got home. No leading at all. Really surprised me. Thought I'd get at least a bit, but I could find none at all.:drinks:

I stack them up as i size them as shown in the pics below; that's lars red.

I've found if i let them dry a little before i bag them up it is less of a problem.

How sticky is it? look at the bottom picture lol

WOW cohutt, you sure put in a lot of effort. I size 'em and dump them into a box lined with a sheet of waxed paper. The waxed paper is my "extra effort"...

I have a sheet of heavy gauge aluminum sandwiched between my sizer and the wood base and plan to place my hand me down clothing iron on the aluminum as a lube heater. Maybe it's time to try it out along with Red Carnauba. Thanks everyone for all the tips!

I have decided to try harder lubes. Ordering a few sticks of the 2500 and Carnauba Red. Thanks for the help! Good shooting!
