I have the chance to buy some linotype locally. What is a fair price per pound?

I have paid $1-$1.25/lb I picked it up locally. It was mosly block letters so i knew what i was getting to a point. If it is ingots you hope it is not cut with WWs or soft lead.
Even letter blocks there is no way to tell how rich an alloy it is. Block form you do have a better chance. If your needing it, $1.50/lb is not that bad of price.

I won't pay more than $1.25 per pound shipped and have had no problem getting all I need.

About 4 years ago I bought 10 of the foundry ingots, 25# each, for 50.00 or .20 a pound. When I went back to get more he gave me the rest on the condition I would smelt all of it, pour into the 1 pound ingots and return 1/2 to him, I thought he was very fair. Last I saw was at the recyclers, 5 gallon buckets full of type in the strips, this was 2 years ago, WW were n.35 and type metal was .70.
