I use a Lee FCD for 9mm and .45. I have not made any boolits yet but was thinking that the FCD could potentially squeeze my precious boolits undersize.

Anyone use the FCD with their cast boolits? If so, results?

I use it for 9,40 and 45 and have not noticed any problems

Bonjour,
I use FCD on my 38's and 9mm boolits. Never had a problem.:Fire:
I've only been reloading and casting a short while but love it (saving €€€).

It won't size your boolits. It has close tolerences and will not let cartridges that are way beyond spec (wouldn't chamber) get through. It will pimch the case/boolit at the point of the crimp.

It can size them a bit, especially if you have thick case necks and you're boolit is already at the size you need it. I don't know how often this case comes up, but I would think it would be more of an issue with trimmed or reformed brass than right for the caliber cases.

I agree with 725, it won't let grossly oversized cases in the die usually.

Just don't crimp them heavy, put a light crimp on them and you will be fine. You can actually dimple a jacketed bullet with enough pressure.

I use the FCD on 45 Colt and 45 ACP. They work great.

I tried the FCD when I started on the 40SW. I sized my booits to .403. I was getting leading in my XD.
I loaded some dummy cartridges. I did not crimp any of these. I ran the FCD over a couple of the shells and left some as seated. I used an inertia puller to retrieve the lead.
The boolits that were FCD'ed (with out crimp) were .401 when pulled. The boolits that were just seated (with out crimp) were .402.
I ordered a Lee Crimp Die to use instead of the FCD and it is working well.
These booits are COWW w/ 1% tin and air cooled.
