What does a taper hole and countersink look like?

I am at the beginning of crafting my second "big" casting pot and wanted to know if any of you have suggestions for making a taper hole and countersink?

I would prefer to make it myself. I have access to a drill press, welding machine, etc.. but not a lathe or mill.

I would also like to know what the design of a taper hole and countersink look like.

I would eliminate the straight bore and use just the countersink.
