Nice grips and has had a trigger job that is sweet.
Hope to get to the range.

I got some real bad news for ya Swede , four boxes of ammo won't be nearly enough unless you show up at the range with only a half hour of daylight left .

A good friend on my has a couple of those guns . The one he used for IDPA compitition from time to time . When he brought it to the range I was always glad I'd brought a thirty caliber ammo can full of reloads . It shoots like it has a mind of it's own and does very well even if I'm holding on to it while it's mowing down targets .

Get all the clips and a good clip loading tool it will help you keep the ammo flowing through that very nice looking revolver you have .

I see a set of carbide dies and a .45 mold in your future...

Those look like Nill grips. Top quality if they are. You'll love that 625...they go for an arm and a leg around here.

My two favorite revolvers are 625's. They are shooting machines!!

Have a 5inch "model of 1989" and a more recent 4inch barrel 625, Two of my favorite revolvers. 200 gr. Lyman swc. mold over 5 to 6 gr. 231 has punched lots of paper, and has killed turtles, rabbits, squirrels snakes, 1 coyote. The 4 inch is the most often carried revolver I have. You will enjoy it!

Got out to the range yesterday.
Temp was about 18 Deg.
Shot the GB 454424 255Gr. Keith.
25 yards off the bench
1 1/4" 6 shot group.

Life is good - cold but good.

Swede;
I just got back from Salt Lake City and as I type this it is 21 degrees here. I was going to shoot today at my home club but chickened out.

What load did you use for that nice 1 1/4" group shot at 18 degrees?

That's pretty cold for me to be shooting outdoors. I have done it but I haven't enjoyed it much. We have a VERY nice range but it would be even nicer if we had a completely enclosed house to shoot out of in the winter. Oh well, we DO have a nice, heated indoor range even if it is only 50 feet. Guess that'll have to do[smilie=1:

I think I'll run some more of those nice 454424's from my NOE mould. Can't have too many, that's for sure.

Here's a picture of my 625-6 (5" barrel) Model of 1989:

And I do believe you are right. I have never heard anything but praise for the Nill grips. When a 625 floats through here, they generally go pretty high too.

Swede when you are done with your four boxes I'll take that off your hands :-)

If this falls through, I'll take the second dibs.

My load:
R-P Auto Rim brass trimmed to .893 just to square up cases.
CCI 300 Larger Pistol primers
6Gr. of Russian Unique.
454424 255Gr. sized .4525 seated to a COL of 1.2335
Haven't played with this load yet.
But its not doing bad as is.

I Did have to install a Millett red dot
to get enough sight to get it on target

I have been shooting the NOE 454424 in my .45 Colt Convertible with the .45 Colt cylinder. It shoots VERY well.

I have yet to shoot ANYTHING in my .45 ACP cylinder (forgot to take ACP with me to the range, the last time).

I also need to load some Auto Rim cases with this bullet over 6.0-7.0 grains of Unique to see how my 625's will handle heavy bullets.

Swede:
From the picture it appears that you are not using the crimp groove. Are the throats too small to allow you to load the bullets "normally"? Both of my 625's (a 625-6 with 5" barrel and a 625-8 with 4" barrel) have thoats that "just" allow me to use the proper crimp groove. I can just feel the front band enter the throats as I load the cylinder. I am expecting excellent accuracy with these bullets.

If I use the crimp groove It comes out about .008 long.
Just enough to make problems.

Was going to cut my brass back, but this is working O.K.

That is a fine looking revolver. I know that you won't regret that purchase.
