Located a place near me that has around 200lbs of lead pipe, lead wrapping for pipes etc......claims there is no steel in it (clean he called it).

Value?

Usable?

what sort of additives would I need to alloy this?

Thanks

It's pure/nearly pure lead.

Buy it & trade it for WW... or save it for your own Muzzlestuffer use/to soften WW.

Don't buy it with the intent to harden it... soft pb is harder to get than hardened lead.

So what kind of velocities would be acceptable with that sort of lead?

What kind of price would you put on 200lbs of that sort of lead?

Thanks

Pure lead = Muzzleloading/swaged bullet velocities.

I don't know what Spot price per pound scrap is right now... call your local scrap yard. Tell them that you have 200# of old lead pipe and ask them what they will pay for it.

Then, go to the guy who has it and haggle with him, starting at some reasonable discount off of Spot for your time & labor to haul it off.

But, just as a gee-whiz, I'd say $0.50/lb or so if you can't get it for free/haulage.

They stopped at 0.25 cents a pound.

Course now I have to see if it is what they say it is!
