I have not studied it, but I believe Hevi Shot is a mix of powdered Tungsten and powdered Iron, glued together by Nickel. As such, each would have their own melting point.

Tungsten has a melting temperature of about 3400 F. I'm told that really pure Tungsten can be cut with a hacksaw, but all that I've worked with can't.

Hevi Shot is basicly a welding slag
And would take a mega hot pot to melt it
Nothing a home caster would probely even be able to come close to

I have melted and re cast some of the Bismuth alloy shot
But currently it is unavaible in bulk

Also from memory none of the other Tungsten would work for home casters

I tryed to melt some of the polmer/Tungsten shot
Made a mess and didn't work

But feel free to have fun and try
You might find something I don't know about that would work
