Here is my question

-do they work?
-do you like the 2 cavity design?

Is $85 price ok for such mold (+shipping)

I don't have any cramer style mold that's why i'm asking.
I can build them so if you have any suggestion about materials, tolerances..... Just let me know

Miha

P.s. I will post some computer render of what i have in mind

I have never held or worked with a Cramer type HP mold. Just missed one on evil bay, to rich for my blood right now.

I'm hoping someone with one will chime in here as I think this can be used on more than just 2 cavity molds!

As to the $85.00 dollar price? I think that's a good number depending of course on the quality of the mold itself. Having seen photo's of your 45 mold and seeing some cast from one that isn't an issue here.

Depending on Caliber and boolit style a 4 cavity option might be nice as well if you could get it into the $120.00 range.

A four cavity caramer style hollow point for $120 will be very popular I predict. I would buy one in most pistol and revolver calibers. Although I would need to spread them out over a period of time. How much more would steel or brass cost?

The Cramer-style HP moulds work very well. I have a few of the originals, and I have a few that have been converted from standard moulds. You can cast fairly quickly with these molds and make a pile of HPs in a hurry. For details see:

Erik offers this service at $45 per cavity.

Now a double in brass(or aluminum) in .402 would be great. Personally I'd rather have a double for 85.00 than a 4 for 120.00. I just don't shoot THAT many hollowpoints.

What cavity designs are you thinking about making?

What people want...

But first I will do Re-run of my .45 Acp holllow point if interest is big enough

For now we are talking about .40, .41, .45 and some interest is in 9 mm (look at group buys)

MiHec,

There will be a big demand for 38spl/357 and 44 mag for these hollowpoints as well.

I don't have much interest in HPs for semi-autos (already got thoses bases covered), but I would be VERY interested in a Cramer-style 2-cavity HP mould for a .452" 275-285 grain RNFP-HP, with a 70% meplat, a .330" crimp groove to meplat nose length, a nice flat Keith-style grease groove (just one), and a plain-base for the .45 Colt.

MiHec,

I'd be interested in a hollowpoint 2 or 4 cav in .38/.357. Also wouldn't mind something that would work in a .38 Super - 9mm.

I have one of your .45's on it's way, still... and I sure wouldn't mind having a Cramer style 2 or 4 port version of it. Since you already own the cherry perhaps that's a starting point for you to experiment on. I'd do $85 for a 2 port or $120 for a 4. Sure appreciate your willingness to try new things to our benefit.

Thanks,

TH

I will run to the mailbox with a check for a redo of your single cavity mold - in any configuration I can get it in.

I'm really ticked I missed out before - that'll teach me to not stop by this site on a regular basis.

That's a nice design!

Has anyone tried to buy a hollow point 45 ACP bullet recently?

I'm in for a two-cavity brass Cramer style 45 HP at $85. I'd like a boolit of at least .452 diameter and 215-220 grains but will go with the group. Tony

I also would like to be in for a 2 cavity hollow point mold in .452 for $85.00 if this is the price.

I am also interested in a .357/.38 in 158 or 150 grain hollow point 2 cavity mold if one would become available for the $85.00 price tag. how much would the shipping be to Pennsylvania 15010?

Hullo MiHec, I received one of your molds for 45 HP that I ordered from you today.

one word, Excellent.

Yes to the question, I think most folks would like the 2 cav and 4 cav, I know I will.
Please don't forget the the 44, there are a lot of folks out here that shoot them and the 357.
These are popular calibers. I know there are folks out there that want the 40 41 & 9mm also , why not set up a thread and ask for votes on how many want what caliber, and go from there as to which ones you produce first.

I am very impressed with your workmanship. Now to cast some boolits!!!!

I'm interested, but will wait until the final design before commiting.

Two cavity in 150 gr. .360, .240 gr. .430, and 200 gr. .452, all cast of 50/50 WW/pure.

I won't be shooting that many HP's either, but lust for these...

I just fired one of your .452 hp 45 acp bullets into my wet sand media for kicks and it did a perfect mushroom. I am sooooo thrilled with your mould I am waiting anxiously for your next run (s) so I may get more of your good stuff. You really have something going and I would love to buy stock in your business.

I would be interested and would buy a two cavity .452 in anywhere from 220gr to 260gr bullet. I would also buy a .44 and 38 caliber Cramer.

I just got an RCBS converted mold from Erik @ http://www.hollowpointmold.com/. Top quality work & the mold works very well. The great thing about the Cramer style is you can use it on a dbl. or 4cav & the pin styles can be varied quite a bit.
Update, here is a pic of the RCBS 9mm/147grFP converted to Cramer. I only wanted on cav done. I have two pins & the faceted pin makes a pretty nice expandng bullet. This one was recovered from wetpack.

No one is making a .501 DC HP in any weight or style I'm aware of. The choice for cast bollit molds in this size is so lacking it would seem to be a great opportunity for a mfg to fill the void. Anything available from a 370 to a 500gr HP and I'd be the first in line...
