OK folks, I can't wait till may, I was out shooting today with my son.

His 1891? 7.65 Argentine had a broken firing pin. I shot my Stevens 200 308.

Load is 311646 over 45 grains of WC860. Groups were 2" today, I need to clean it and try again.

This time we are shooting for group size. Choose the target that best suits you.

CAST boolits, any sight any caliber 100 yards, TEN shots.

Starts today, ends Last day of April.

Lets see a ONE HOLER!

David :)

Scan and post your target, or take a picture or PM me for my address and I will post it.

The 50 yard off hand match is still going on. Look at that thread for some of the results.

I cleaned the 308 and put a new firing pin in the mauser. My son and I are going to try again today.

Umm well, Nothing great except I went out shooting and the mauser functioned flawlessly.

Best I could do today is 10 shots in a 2.5" wide x 5" tall group. :( I shoulda tooka picture.

Another whack at it next week.

How long is this one running David? I hope to get out next weekend and shoot a better 50 yard target in between practice for the PSA Shootout. I won't be able to get ammo loaded for the thutythuty and shoot this until sometime in May...

So far I am the only one to shoot this match. It runs to the end of april. We could extend it.

I am going to have one a month for a while and see if it catches on.

This has to be the least looked at section of these forums.

I'm just having the classic life getting in the way of my shooting issues. Those 50 yard targets I posted were the last time I was at a range to bum around rather than shoot a match. Well if I can't get in on this one, there's always the next.

I have to agree on the traffic here. I guess it's more fun to talk about your .3 inch keyboard groups than post your 3 inch ones...

I just finished a 3 day match out of town, and it was nothing to write home about. Broke two rifles the first day and ended up shooting a 22 and borrowing a bench gun for the remainder. I put a new firing pin in my 45-70 Hiwall, I'll shoot that in the next week or so as soon as the weather clears a bit.

Regards,
Bill

I went to the range today with my Winchester 94 AE .357 and shot some groups. Putting 10 shots together at 100 is one hell of a lot tougher than 5 shots. Just so no on else feels embarassed with their groups I'll show mine and if you can't beat these--enough said! There was no special effort made with this ammo, it's what I shoot every day. Bullets are from 4 and 6 cavity molds with visual inspection during casting and sizing and loaded on a progressive CH Auto Champ press.

I just found a box of TEN loaded up 308's I am going to try. The last batch wasn't worth much as you saw.

Thanks to those that are shooting this.

After I wasted my time shooting all those offhand targets, I popped up and put 20 down range with the 30AS. Not my best efforts, but at least I have a horse in the race. I'll get a scan up in a bit...

Here it is. I make it at about 3.080, but will send it in with my offhand target for the official scoring. All the pertinent info is on the target except for OAL which was 2.410 inches and sights which was a Simmons 3x9 scope.

ETA: 15.5 grains of 2400 gets 1,739 fps average in my 30AS.

These are only five shot groups but it was the first time that I ever shot this gun. I bought/stole it at Kittery Traiding post about five years ago. These are with SAECO #315 and AA5744 powder out of my Remington 40X.

Put together 10 shots and post the target. Looks like you could run away with it!

Huh! That has the earmarks of a winner!

David R

Yeah, we have a winner So Far. The match isn't over, but I aint gonna top that one unless I cast and load some for my 22-250. Then I don't know if I can top that one or not.

Doc Hiwall, I use a tape measure, you went to 3 decimal places. Good shooting!

Imashooter2, I have your target and it measures 2 3/4". This puts you in second.

Good shooting by everyone.

It aint over yet!

Doc Highwall is the winner by a mile. Helen Keller could see that one.

See post #17

Thanks to all that entered

David :)
