Hello,
I slugged the bore of my Mk4 No.1 and it came out to .304x.315 (2 rifling).
I cast my bullets and need a mould. What would be the best size ?
I am use to bullets that size with narrow rifling like my Mosin..the Lee Enfield rifling sizes the opp way 'round.
Thanks...
Mike

You could start with the Lee 312-185 or the Lyman 314299 and figure you may have to beagle either of them to get the size you need. Generous 30s come up here fairly regularly and you might want to watch for the next chance to get into one of those buys. Lee or Buckshot will make custom size dies if you need a .316 die.

Yup, better figure .314 at least, maybe a large as .316 or larger.

You could try a .319" boolit like the 165 gn Lyman 319247 PB and size it down a couple of thou, it's a Loverinish boolit so it should size down OK and have planty of room for alloy displacement in that 2 groove barrel.

Get a Lyman 323470 (a 323471 if you can find one) and a 324/325 H-die. Also get a .314 Lee sizer and hone out to .316, not hard to do. Seat .32 GC and lube with a good lube like Javelina in the -die then push through the .316" Leed sizer. The lube in the grooves keeps the lube grooves intact and the Bullet with GC sizes down easily. It then makes a perfect bullet for your .315" SMLE.

CBE molds out of Australia make all manner of oversize molds for the .303 Brit. as they use them alot down there, CBE molds are made of brass and very nice to use, they are a bargain as well due to the low Aussie dollar!

I agree I would look at the CBE moulds at http://www.theammodump.com/cbe.html

Jim has recently added a couple of .316-318 bullets.

I have one of Jims 316 moulds and it shoots great.
