Hmm buckshot molds are not very common. I heard of people taking a couple of cookie sheets, making a negative mold with plaster of paris from wax balls and using toothpicks for the flowchannels. In the old days they used drop towers instead for faster production.

Head down to the "casting for shotguns" section, there's a few threads about it.

Send a PM to skiesunlimited and see what he has.

Fleabay generally has a few at any given time. I didn't see them today but check in a day or so as I rarely see a bid and they always get relisted.

Closest things to buckshot moulds are crappy sinker moulds and single or double cavity round ball moulds. Takes a heap of casting to load buckshot with a double cavity mould. Iffen it were me, and I were hellbent on casting casting buckshot, I'd go for 000 and use a .360 mould. 000 stacks nice while 00 loads randomly.

Check BPI for wads without a shotcup. The shotgun reduces the payload and does nothing for patterns. You can trim the petals off conventional wads, but that's a drag.

Go to ebay & look up user, skiesunlimited, he usually has all sizes of buck shot molds. I got a 00 that casts 20 pellets at a time for $35.00 + $5.00 shipping. They come out in doubles & you have to clip the sprues by hand but you can cast a lot of buck shot in a hurry. Nice CNC alum mold, I'm considering getting other sizes. I hope this helps, I picked up this info several weeks ago on this forum. Lots of smart guys with good info on this sight & always willing to help. I learn something new every day here. Does anyone remember the linked buckshot mould that were available a few years ago? They were 3-4 balls, depending on size all cast together in a circle that fit in a shotshell & were stackable. In thoery, they were supposed to break apart upon firing. I haven't seen them for ages.

People called them "cluster bombs". I did a search for the seller that was given in an earlier post and they do not exist according to ebay.

I have a 30cal RB mold, single cavity that I have cast nearly 20lbs of buckshot with... and I tell you I'd much rather have to cut sprue by hand than drop each ball over and over again.

You could probably get a 6 cavity round ball from NEI although it won't be cheap.

Here is a link to one of his completed auctions. I have bought 2 molds from him, a 00 and a #4, both have worked well for me. The castings have came out perfectly. I have yet to load any, but I will soon. The molds don't usually last long, so you have to keep a look out for them. He has no store, and lists them with a buy it now, and they go quickly. thanks for the link.
now the question is, in terms of casting and reloading my own... is 00 or 000 better?
i read somewhere that 000 is easier to load and fills the hull better compared to 00...
im new to shotgun reloading so any opinions or advice are as always, greatly appreciated
thanks
