Recently picked up an odd little side-by-side.

9mm Flobert (smoothbore) and a 5.3m???? unreadable. Somewhat battered. Due to a strange circustance I'm not able to clean it well (yet).

The combo is tight and well made, double hammered, double trigger, with three leaf sights. 100 front folds toward action, 50 rigidly upright, 150 folds toward muzzle.

Any ideas on what the 5.3 barrel is likely to be?

Welcome to the forum sojerguy. It sounds as if you have found an interesting little firearm. Does it have any markings on it? Most but not all Floberts that I have encountered have been rimfire. Is the 5.3 barrel smoothbore also or is it rifled. Information on Floberts seems to be much harder to come by on this side of the pond than when I was stationed in England. Perhaps some of our European brethren can shed some light on this matter. Neil
