Uncle Grinch

I went to the range today (www.marionroad.com ) and tried a few loads using some of my Green Dot powder, since I didn't have any the Red Dot that is highly recommended. I was shooting my M38 Swede 6.5x55 and my RCBS 26-140 FNGC mould.
Starting at 9.0 grains and working up, my first few groups at 50 yards, with original iron sights, looked promising. 9.0 did have some soot around the case mouth, but it shot nice enough. However, when I got to my last batch of reloads which was 10.5 grains of Green Dot, I was really pleased.
I did not have my crono with me, but will test these later and let you know what they shot. These actually shot better than my FMJ factory loads that I used for the brass (NNY headstamp).
I have read that Red Dot is a great plinker powder, but give Green Dot a try. I believe you will be satisfied with it also.
