Back in 98 I bought an 8 pound jug of PSA-11 powder. I loaded some of it using the load data on the back of the jug(see pic). When I bought it, the dealer(at a gun show) told me that I could use Accurate #5 load data.

Does anyone here have any experience with this powder and can I use #5 data?

Thanks,
Mike

I have burned most of my 8 pound jug using AA#5 data.

44 Mag, 357 Mag, 38 spl

Currently using it for 222 Remington "yard vermin" load.

Thanks TC. I loaded some .45's the other day using the start data on the jug and they sure felt hot. I checked the AA5 load data and it looks like it matches the .45 data on the jug.

Any idea on the history of this powder?

Only thing I THINK I know about it is that as I remember it, it was a powder made in China.

I do NOT even remember where I got mine.

Actually remembered that I got mine from BBJ's table at a Nashville show WAY back when.

THIS IS NOT LOADING RECOMMENDATION MIND YOU

BUT

6.1 grains of that powder stuffed BEHIND a 160 grain RNFP PB GB boolit in 38 spl brass does quite well out of a old 3 screw Blackhawk.

TC,
Thanks for that. I'm amazed that only 2 guys from Middle Tennessee are the only ones who have heard of this stuff. Seems to be good powder, Chinese or not. I've got enough to last me a long time.

BBJ's at a gun show back about that time period. This is back when they came to a show with a pretty good supply of reloading supplies.

In fact it was back when several reloading supply dealers came to the Nashville shows with a plethora of supplies.

I have sent several pounds of boolits downrange using mine and the only load that has been accurate is 10.5 grains PS-11 behind a 250 grain boolit in my Super Blackhawk.

THIS IS NOT REALLY A REAL LOAD AND ONE SHOULD NEVER TRY IT AT HOME OR THE RANGE!

I've shot thousands of .44 Spl with 5.7gr of PSA11 and a 200 gr RNFP boolit in cowboy action shooting. Very accurate and mild.

is mild in the Mag case and the most accurate load out of my Super Blackhawk. It was also most accurate loading in my old Super Blackhawk with AA#5.

Does anybody care to share personal reloading data for this powder?

Yes, I'm new to the site, but not reloading. Nor is my father.
We are looking for info other than the jug data or accurate data. We have these.

Thanks in advance for a help that is offered.

lead ball slinger,
Welcome to the forum! It's good to see another TN person here.

As to data, I have really nothing else to contribute. I use the AA5 numbers and it just works for me. I'm loading it in .380, 9mm, 44 Spl and 45ACP. I haven't gone off on my own with this powder and tried to make it do anything else.

I have used it in 38 SPL, 44 Mag, 338 Rem mag and am almost out. Worked OK, but never as well as other Milsurp powders. I am down to about a pound, so I may just use it to fill a bunch of 38 SPLs for plinkin.

Wonder if BBJ was the only one that got some of this stuff?

Just went back and looked at the pictures in your post and noted the label. David is still in business, but is now Magnum Materials and sells mostly AA powders now days.

Boy this post came back from the oldies file

We need to figger out a TN or Middle Tennessee Meeting.

Maybe like the Nevada meeting, but only for a place to meet and shoot!
