I am about to start reloading a batch of .45 Colt cartridges for a friend. He has a .454 Casull and want the cartridges for practice. He has asked me to use the 220 gr Lyman RN bullet designed for the .45acp. I plan on using either Titegroup or Unique. He wants the bullets to run around 850 fps.

Have any of you tried this bullet in the .45Colt and loaded using either of those two powders.

Bob, get the cheapest one. Both would do what you want. ... felix

I've used 9.5gr. of Unique with the 200swc, 220rn, and 230gr. rn. in my New Service, all shot great and to POA.:-D

Good advice, all. Unique is relativly inexpensive to may go with that. Will chrono some loads out of my Stampede and call on e of them good.

I've had great accuracy results with my lyman 230gr RN bullets and a wide range of Loads in unique in my 4 5/8's ruger 45LC black hawk. Its a good plinker, I started to think for a while my gun like any charges of unique esp with heavier bullets like 245 and 255gr+ keith and RN designs but you just need to push them faster I've found.

Go with the Unique IMHO it very versatile.
