Now that I'm back in the 222 business I'm looking for a slug that will serve for paper punching and small game up to and including coyotes. Am I asking too much out of one mold? Thanks in advance.

Greetings
I launch out of .243 so there is not a loĦt of difference. What I found out is a heavy boolit can do it all. I tend to stay on the soft side (50-50 ww-pure) GC and keep my FPS around 1600-1800. This way my 95 grainer is sighted for making holes in paper or 4 legged varmets. A coydog smacked with a 50-50 bullet at about 1600 fps impact speed in the chest folds up nicely. I gave up somewhat on the lighter (70) graines as they just did shoot as welll from my Rem 788. I think it has a 1-12 twist (maybe 1-10 ?) and like I said I prefer softer boolits for hunting.

I like the Lyman 225415. It's accurate and the lil flat nose is good on game.

The 225415 or the 22-55-SP RCBS are both great choices in the .222. Get buckshot to HP your choice and you'll be happy with the results./beagle
