Anyone shot any of the 297

Has anyone tried any of the 297 offered by Pat's?
Seems like a cheaper way to shoot 297 with of course slightly more powder to get to the same velocities.

In the very limited amount I have shot in my 357, 41, and 44mag, all with JHP's, the velocity has been running around 30 - 70 fps higher for identical loads, compared to my lot of 296 which I am on the last pound of purchased in '94.

Looks to be good for what I load, so hopefully it won't take long to tweak it in.

The loads are as follows,

.357 Mag - 158gr JHP 16grs W-296
41 Mag - 200gr JHP 20.5gr 296
44 Mag - 240gr JHP 23.5grs 296

So far the 44 loads with 297 have been the closest to my standard load with velocities running only around and average of 25fps higher. The others have had bigger spreads which could be due to the guns needing a good scrubbing or the crimps needing adjusting. Most of these loads were simply put together and hauled out to be shot with no major consideration to detail.

ive shot it in the 454,475 and 500 but nothing smaller. in these cases it pretty much mirrors 296
