I ran into a deal where a friend of a friend of a friend had a death in the family and I was able to buy a lot of reloading and casting equipment at a good price. Among the items were two brand new 6 banger Lee molds, there was no model numbers on the boxes or the molds. At first I though they were 358-158-RFs....a quick search showed that had a good rep so I did the mods on one mold and cast a hundred or so. But after I dropped them though they seem similar to the 358-158-RF it's different, it's dropping at 187/188 grains and is measuring out at .357/.358. Pics are below....is this a discontinued mold or a special order? It doesn't seem to match up with anything in my Lee catelog. Any help is appreciated.

No marking on the box indicates special order/custom made by Lee for someone or a retailer that handles special orders. Midsouth has custom moulds they sell made by Lee.

Those look pretty similar to some GB molds that have been done on this forum in the last couple of years. If you don't want them, they will be VERY easy to sell here, as this is a very sought-after item.

We have had at least 4 group buy copies of what I call a LBT 180fn that weigh 185 gr. Three small lube grooves and an 80% meplate. Most are great game getters.

Ahhhh.......where would I find a load for such an animal, using unique or bullseye? All my manuals stop at 160 g and my searches haven't really turned up anything......though I do remember stumbling on a post on another board a few weeks ago talking about heavy (200 g) .38 special loads.

Reduce your Unique and Bullseye 160 grain loads by at least 1 grain and work up from there.

Starting loads for 160 grain bullets would be safe too.
