Here is the paper patch mould I made from a spare single cavity Lyman mould. It makes a 550 gr. WW boolit I will patch for my double rifle project in 50-90. I need a .501" boolit, this one casts about .502", so it needs a minor amount of sizing to clean up at that diameter. I just used a 1/2" ball end mill.

very, very nice.. I think I would shoot it unsized first the results might suprise you a extra thou oversize is better than undersize in my limited experience. What is the rifle?

The rifle is a Brno side X side shotgun I converted to a 50-90 double rifle. I have never paper patched before, but I gathered the boolit isn't supposed to touch the barrel, just the paper patch. My bore is .501", the as-cast boolits won't fit without some engraving.

.............Is it for smokless? What's your groove? A business like looking thumper of a boolit :-) That oughta raise a welt on whatever it hits!

Yes, I'm shooting smokeless. Bore is .501", groove is .510". If I read all the paper patching stuff right, the smokeles guys like to patch right at groove size. I should be able to get 1,800 fps. out of the 550gr.
