Bonjour mes amies,

To cut a very long story short.

I now know guy who works in a tyre shop, who specialises in TRUCK tyres.
[smilie=w:[smilie=w:
In exchange for some WW’s I offered too take him to the range. He accepted.
He brought me 5 buckets of WW’s. All lead, as they don’t use zinc on trucks. :-D
I reckon I’ve got about 250lb’s.
I’ve never seen WW’s this big. Smallest is 100g, biggest is 350g. I'll post some pic's once I learned who!?!?!?!?!?
Looking forward to a weekend of smelting, better go buy a new gas bottle!!!!!

I'm a little envious but appreciate your good fortune. I'll bet the guy you got them from appreciated the trip to the range. It's in the high 40's today and I'm headed out myself!!

Hello Fusil
I work in a trucking company and now which WW you`re talking about. I took a big load of my bosses shoulder when I told him I would take care about discarding the old WW.
He thinks I´m making sinkers for fishing.

About two years ago I went to a local tire shop that does all of the trucks in the area and got 2 1/2 five gallon buckets, plus a large cardboard box full of those big w/w. I think I gave the man $20. The last time I went back he wanted $60 for a bucket full. They stayed there...

Not now.. They look more like rectangles that are embossed with "LYMAN" on the top...

In my limited WW scrounging experiences the biggest I've seen is 8 ounces.

There are two 1-pounders sitting on top of one of my buckets.

I picked up some large truck WW's last week. Some are 8 ounces. others over 16 ounces. Is there a possibility that truck WW's are harder than the standard ww's? Has anyone done a hardness test on these big ones? Thanks in advance for any information.

Rifle; Yes the big boys are nice! I especially like the 16 oz'ers, those little clips don't amount to s****.

Question. Is there a place that only changes tires on trucks? Like the "normal" tire shops for cars?

Never seen WWs that big...

There are shops that do truck tires only but the truth is most commerical trucks dont have the tires balanced. If they do usually its only the front tires. I have driven many commerical trucks and only 1 had the fronts balanced that I can recall.

I miss working in the truck shops for the w/w I got from the tire guys. Around here (Phone Company) the new trucks we get have w/w and then there after the tire service installs Equel a powdered agent that balances centrifically. Looks like powdered Tang color and all. I get all the w/w at our shop and the tire dude brings me some once in awhile not much tho, he could care less even with a bribe.

Those truck WW's are great! I couldn't believe how big the 16oz. ones were. I would live to run into a big lot of them.
