Anybody cast/use RBs for the .22 NAA C&B (16gr?) ? They sell a 30gr conical, but it's $5/100, and I like RB better in C&B anyway and would like some feedback... :drinks:

Who sells a 30-gr. conical? What's the diameter? Why do I ask so many questions? This sounds like a fun bullet for the .22 Hornet.

Actually the bullets are a swaged bullet similar to what is used for the 22lr except it does not have a heel. Honestly $5 a hundred is pretty cheap, BUT.

Wholesale on them is only $3.36 per 100 but there would be shipping on them, one wholesaler I deal with has 1500 of them in stock. I dunno about you guys but I can't see casting bullets or balls for a mini revolver when you can buy (1000) for $33.60 ??

I suppose it's because this is a casting forum? ;)

Actually, in general I like RB in C&B because I like to "swage on loading". That lead ring is a good thing IMO.

I wonder if there is a .22 buckshot that would work?

I wonder if .22 pellets from air guns would have a use in them?

(duuhhh I must be losing it...) Interesting thought! ... now I will DEFINATELY have to get one of them buggers...

(One of the things I really want to try is shooting it without powder... sort of like a home-made super-colibri pistol without the 4473...)

I just went to the NAA website; 100 conicals for $4.00 plus $7.00 shipping and handling. Interest fading............

I have fired 22 pellets in a 22 hornet TC 10" barrel, they work with no powder at all, and I went as high as 1.0 of bullseye.

I shoot Frontier Cartridge (Black Powder only) in Cowboy Action Shooting. Love the buck & roar. :Fire:
Our side matches include .22 rifle and .22 pistol, so in effort to be a purist (or just to have SOME bragging rights) I pulled the bullets and powder from some .22 LR's and replaced them with Holy Black 4F powder and pressed in the NAA .22 bullets with a bit of glue to hold them in.

They work very well for side matches, accurate enough for Cowboy distances but bark unremarkably and smoke very little. You get your fun where you find it. :drinks:
