I have a ruger blackhawk that is piercing primers and appears to have a burr on the
firing pin. What is the best way to remove that burr?

Well, no takers, so I'll give it a try. Just push the pin out as far as you can from the hammer side, then just take a few passes at it with a fine stone or file. Depending on how hard the pin is, the stone might be your best bet. I had a S&W .357 that had a very pointy pin, that I fixed this way. Don't remove too much metal. Good luck.

Thanks,
I have a fine ceramic stone that I used on it last night. Seemed to work well,
but will have to see at the range to be sure.

Worked. Fired 50 rounds of 4 different loads and no primer problems.
