A buddy asked me to post this. He bought a front stuffer from some guy and these were in a tin. He said they were amazingly accurate but didn't have any idea where he could buy them. So there ya go and here they are. Any help would be greatly appreciated..."mikes .510 and is .500 long, has beeswax lube and is pure lead".
Thanks,
Jack

thats the Buffalo Ball-et.

www.thepossibleshop.com should have them. These were discontinued a year or 2 ago.

Could be a custom swage but I think they may have been made by Hornady.

I tried 'em in my T-C Hawken. They were OK, but no better than the .490" roundballs I cast myself. They were a bit harder to load and pretty damned expensive, too.

Suggestion for your pard: get the lee real 250 grain mould and try that very similar flight characteristics to them 50 cal foster slugs. The real boolit works real well in my 1/48 twist guns.

Or if he has the money he could get a mould made and then roll boolits across a coars file, than lube. Might even be able to make a push through sizer of the appropraite size work. A modifed/custom bottom punch to match the base of that ball et and then push a 54 cal round ball through the die. Ball ets are simply a 50caliber foster slug with some wax on them after all.

Hey 357,
Thanks for the info. I might just do that. He really liked those boolets, said he never had a more accurate round in his front stuffer..
