I'm interested in the .22caliber bullets and was looking through some catalogs on line and saw this, a .228 gas check RN 60 grain from RCBS.
Wondering how much deformation you would get pushing this through a .225 lube die.
What brought all this on was , my first attempt in casting .22 caliber, was with a Lyman 225415, took a while and finally got some that would pass for bullets, finally got the mould hot enough, used the #2 Lyman alloy mix, and water quenched. Let 'em set . Heck when miked 'em they were .224 out of the mold but I went ahead and put the GC's on and pushed them through the luber.
Was planning to shoot these through a Hornet and a .223 Rem. How many of you guys, shoot this 225415 as cast? What kind of rifles are you running these through, and back to the 1st question would the .228's size down and give me a better bullet.
