I've been shooting Lee 358-158-RF with good results for Cowboy Action Shooting. I'm thinking of ordering either Lee 358-105-SWC or 358-125-RF. Does anyone have any success or recommendations with either bollit?

Ideally I will be able to shoot the "selected" style boolit in both my Rugers as well as the Marlin. I am only driving the present 158 grain boolit at about 780FPS in the Marlin.

I'd really like to try a boolit that has a truncated cone, similar to Lee's 356-120-TC. Sadly the Lee is .356" diameter. However, I believe I could mount the mold, less handles in my lathe and open the grooves to about .360" if the modifications would be beneficial. The boolits would then be lubersized to .358".

One other thing that I would appreciate a comment on is the lack of a "crimping" groove on the .356" boolit. I don't really think they are necessary with my velocity, any comments?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
Bob

This is the Lee 125 with 6 grains of Universal. You can see from the target that 6 grains is the sweet spot.

It also shots great in my revolvers for a light plinking load. It will also knock the rams down at 100 meters, but I haven't shot it on paper at 100.

Crabo,
Looks like I'll be ordering the 125GRain Lee. You mention "Universal" powder. Pardon this question but do you mean Universal Clays, the shotgun powder?
Thanks for the reply and photos,

bob

The Lee 125rf with 7gr Unique is my std load. It shoots good in about everything.

Just plain Universal.
