Good morning all! I have been reading here for quite some time and while learning a lot, still have a question that I need to have answered prior to purchasing gas checks or the equipment to make them.
I intend to purchase a couple sets of gas check molds for my 45-70 in size .460, a couple of thousandths over the mic'd size of my barrel.
When I look at gas checks or the equipment to make them, they simply state that they are for .45 caliber. Are these going to be large enough for the shank of a .460 gas checked bullet?
I have not yet decided on which GC's to buy. I like the low prices of the "Gator" checks but want to get the brand that crimps on and stays on the .460 bullet shanks the best.
Thanks!
