The 150s & 170s were pretty much designed for the .30-30, and have proven out very well.

It is a nice looking bullet. RCBS moulds cast beautifully. I wasn't familiar with it, thanks.

Wolfdog, that’s a good looking design, for sure. Have you measured the diameter of the nose portion above the crimp groove?

Brok out the lube sizers and it's acting. Right for once. Somthing nice about shiny lead and lube.

That is a very early RCBS design, it's even pre RCBS Cast Bullet Manual #1 as is my 7mm mould : 28-168-FN. I believe the early RCBS moulds were hold over designs from Ohaus when RCBS acquired that company. They are sort of Lovern designs and shoot very well.

Loaded some but was only able to take one shot before I had to stop

Probably could have adjusted the die so the plug did a bit more in the mouth flare

Thanks for measuring the major diameter of that boolit's ogive. Obviously RCBS didn't think it needed to be a bore riding nose design in order to shoot accurately...

Very nice looking bullets you make. Glad to see that you could cover the lube grooves and crimp in the 30-30, if desired.
