Easiest Chrono on the market to set up and use! There are others that may give more information, but none as practical for the "shooter" or hunter IMO. ($499 is a fair price.)

Easy calculation for some:

USPSA major match entry fee, hotel for several nights, travel, meals, vacation time, incidentals can add up to thousands. If you don’t meet the minimum power factor threshold for your division, though, you shoot for reduced or even no score.

$500 bucks is relatively cheap for ensuring your ammo does its job.

They go for $599 at the Scheels around here

If you are interested in one at that price, I suggest you hurry. Garmin very strictly enforces their MAP price which is why they are $599 everywhere else. They monitor their dealers and will shut down the product delivery to them. It won't last I bet.

They are incredible units, so easy and accurate.

I just got one on eBay for 550. I ordered it just 2 days after the seller raised the price from 530.I think reedap1 is right.

Bass Pro has them for $599 with 10% off of that for veterans. So I bought one and a Harbor Freight hard case to carry it in.

When in stock Revival Defense has a "secret" discount code for $100 if you type "Speed" at checkout. It ended up being $510 shipped and it was mailed the next day.

Reeeds Family Outdoors is where I bought mine. They don't charge sales tax to out of state customers and mine was $550 delivered. I carry mine in a pistol rug (gun show for $10). Best money I've spent in a long time.

Another option for a case is this portable hard drive case I posted about in the other Garmin thread. I had it for months with many range trips and it is stiff enough to just be tossed in a range bag. $9 on Amazon.
