This die is obviously a Lyman DA seater die, but I can't figure out what caliber it is intended for. It is stamped "Lyman-123-DA" on the side and the top of the seater stem is stamped "366". The working end of the seater stem is 0.307" OD and has the cone-shaped cavity that is typically used for pointed or round nose rifle bullets. It appears to be for bullets that are larger diameter than .338 because my .338 pointed bullets bottom out in the cone before contacting the sides of the cone. The shoulders on the 7mm Rem Mag family of cases will not enter the bottom of the die body because it is only 0.482" ID. It is possible that the seater stem and the body came from separate sources. I will post pictures here shortly. Any ideas?

"123" on the small Lyman dies is the number for the .30-06. You probably have the seater die for that caliber.

Thanks Ramrod. I had not thought about that. This must be an early 7/8 x 14 and they used the markings of the 310 die? If that is the case, then the seater stem is not a mate to the body because .308 pointed bullets bottom out in the stem.
