Am trying to find the date of manufacture on an old Leupold scope. The only
markings other than the adjustment rings are:
2 1/4 X
Leupold and Stevens Instruments
Portland, Oregon
Pat. Pending.

The reticule is a fine horizontal line that is bisected by a tapered post. There lens seem ti be very clear with no clouding.

Hopefully someone can chime in and help out. Will get photos later.
Thanks,

Have you called Leupold to see if they can help?
Waiting for the pictures, as tough to guess until then.

Leuplod & Stevens made a 2.25X scope in late 1940's and early 50's. It had .875 tube and used adjustable mounts. Several reticles available. I don't see any other 2.25X scopes listed.

What kind of adjustments and what is the tube size.

I am a little late to the thread. I have the book Old Rifle Scopes and try to look scopes up if I can. Sometimes info is rather sketchy.
