Too many today have no clue what price was paid for our freedom. Thanks to all the vets, past and present for your sacrifices!

Bloodman14,

As a fellow veteran, I find this picture very powerful. I hunted deer in NH in the 1980s with a WWII veteran of the 10th Mountain Division.

Be well.

IMHO another holiday people think is just a long weekend. It’s a shame. It’s important to remember the great sacrifices made for our freedoms by those who have been long forgotten as well as by those who are still with us today.

Wonder how some of these people would deal with a ration book.Tires, fuels and oils, foods, many things. Overtime was almost unlimited and sometimes mandatory. Dad told some of this. He served just after ww2 last of German occupation forces. Car pooling actual became predominant to save on the fuel and tire rations.Shortages of food brought about the back yard and roof top Victory Gardens. Women went to work in positions never thought of. Men to young for the service went into the factories. New technologies lept ahead much faster than normal. Production was ran at an all out pace. Kiasers was told welded seam ships would never hold up but the liberty ships were built and came off the docks 1 every 30 days.

To all who served Thank-you to all who made it possible thank-you

I regularly think about my uncle Francis, whom I never met, who is buried in Holland. The Dutch people don't forget.
