A friend of mine picked up a combination gun in this caliber and want's me to help him build /buy some ammo for it . I have worked with several British nitro cartridges but never this one.
Any advice about where to start with this one.

You need to do a chamber cast to get the dimensions that you will need. Do you have any of the cartridge conversion books? They can sometimes give you a hint of how to proceed. Check CH4D.com to see if he might already have that in his catalog.

That's the same case as the brit 450/400 bpe or nitro express I believe. Still used as a hunting round in Switzerland.

thank you for the replies. I have some leads now . I have some Bertram 450/400 2 3/8 cases in route. I was surprised that quick load has the 10.3 x 60 R listed. dies and bullets are next. Bore is supposed to be .415. I suppose .416 cast would work. I'll see how this works.

A case full of black, slightly compressed. 400 slick with two wraps of 16lb paper, you'll be very close.
Works for me.
