I got the wife a .45cal muzzleloader, and I am going to get a .50cal rig.
Lee makes a mold that makes both round balls, and REAL bullets.
Has anyone used the REAL bullets and have any comments on them.
I cast almost everything now, and I see no reason to but a bag. I have always enjoyed slow and smokey, more so than modern. Kinda total involvement. Not partial to flints though.
I am planning on useing Pyrodex RS for both rifles.

I tried the Lee REALs in my 45 and they didn't shoot great. Not bad but not great. The twist wasn't right in the 45 but they did shoot real good in my 50 which had a 1/48 twist. I did have the Lee combo mould too.

Thanks, that tells it all.
Patched for the .45, combo for the 50.
Might just make for a slow and smokey afternoon.

What twist is the 45? It could still shoot good but will need at least a 1/48 twist.
