Got an email about people being banned that aren’t supposed to be banned. Just testing.

Very strange. I expected to find the usual in that email. But, no masked links. They actually point to where they say. Address is legit. Security looks legit. Nothing about it is off, forensically. (That I can see. I've been out of IT for almost a year.) But it is very, very odd.

This is a legit email sent out by the webmaster.

The site has been under attack by S&S scammers for some time but the scammers have amped up their game.

The scammer’s MO is to created a screen name which looks similar to the seller’s name - example no_l instead of no_1. Once done they send a PM to one of the winners or buyers indication payment should be sent using PayPal F&F then request you follow up with a screen shot of the payment to another mail address.

The moderators and myself have been blocking the higher risk / higher fraud ratings VPN’s the scammers have been using but some members who are using the same VPN’s are finding themselves unable to access the forum.

As a result of complaints from those legit members, the webmaster has unblocked all VPN’s and is asking for any member who has been banned to contact him.

Please be aware of potential increased scammer presence on the site.

If you can see the forum when you’re logged in then you aren’t banned.
Same with the PM system. If you can access your PM then you aren’t banned

Yes I have been receiving a huge number of e-mails lately from people saying they are banned when they shouldn't have been. We have been getting a HUGE increase in spiders/crawlers/spammers the last few months and all the staff here are working very diligently to get it all resolved and taken care of. So please note if you can read this and try to login and it says you are banned (and you know your not suppose to be) please use the "contact us" button below and I can look into your issue. Thanks!

I somehow got the "banned" status a long time ago, and did not know who to contact about it. The welcome email informed me that the issue had been resolved, and it has! I'm (so far) no longer banned. Yay!

Now, about GunAndGame - I'm banned there as well, for no obvious reason. Can anyone help me out there? Thanks!

The IP address at work (VPN) is banned so I can't access the site from there.
