Extended bolt handle

I would like to put an extended bolt handle on my Remington 700 Light Tactical Rifle. Anyone ever done this? What does it take to do it.

Recently I did two of them for a friend. I set them up in a fixture that I made and used a rotary table and a milling machine to turn the knob end down to the right diameter and then threaded them for the extended handle. I read somewhere on-line that one guy just ground his down on a bench grinder and then threaded it. He must be a lot better at off hand grinding than I am, but it shows it can be done that way.
