Yesterday, in the morning I went to the tireshop that lies next to my work. Got 140kgs (around 310 pounds) of wheelweights for free. Later in the evening I went hunting and got this beauty. I don't hunt with CB's thou (it's forbidden here in Sweden).

Congratulations - on both counts. Makes it a great day. Can't hunt with CB, why is that ?

I've been reading that Europe is changing over to zinc wheelweights....true?

Not really sure, but it seems you made some pig into pork, that is a pig, not a bear?
Looks as though a pig rug could be made from Scandanavian porkers, I suppose it is the temperature although, I recall seeing movies of Swedes going swimming in January, after breaking the ice.

We are only allowed to hunt with jacketed expanding bullets.
I've heard about the changeover to zink too but I don't know when it will be (time will tell).
Yeah it's a pig, the first this year. I got five of em last fall :) .
Well some people go bathing in the winter, I think it's way too cold.

Have a nice weekend.

...............Congratulations on the pig. You took 5 last year!? You must share with the neighbors or have lots of freezer space. Does your wife hunt (assuming you're married)? So what did you use for the hunt?

Thanks!
Yes we share the meat. Me, my hunting buddy and the landowner. I use a Tikka 695 in .30-06, bullet used was 200gr Norma Oryx.

Here is a pic from another lucky day, I got these in october.

Jocke,
Congratulations! Is it really so in Sweden that no hunting allowed with cast bullets? At all? I'm just wondering, because our rules are pretty similar and the law here says that only full metal jacket is not allowed when hunting any kind of deer or moose or bear. For smaller game also FMJ is allowed no problem.

Full metal jackets are allowed for some hunting, but no cast bullets. Only lead bullets allowed are rimfires for small game.
