I'm no authority on this but without looking up any references here's a fist stab. Which stands to be correct by the more knowledgable on this subject.

The 5(3)/00 looks like a month/year marking for manufacture or date of issue or repair or issue to store. I.E May 1900

3/D.C.L.I/ could be 3rd Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry although that was usually stamped C.L.I

12/01 again a date stamp December 1901

17 A.O.C could be Army Ordnace Corps.

575 could be the regimental issue number.

Whatever with all the struck out stamps it travelled some what, I am assuming that it is military issue and the broad arrow is on it if not it could be police issue and thats another can of worms.

Photos af any other marks would be very helpful as I feel we are only getting half a story here

Nice pistols, used to have a largish Webley collection pre ban, I still shoot my Mk VI under 7.3 though.

Let us know how she groups. My Webleys all liked Red Dot but go easy on the loads with a MK 1.
