Heard Starline had .44 Russian and since I have no firearm for said caliber with the exception of the Model 29 and Ruger Flatttop .44 Special.... I went ahead and ordered 200 pcs.

My very old Lyman carbide dies date to the early '70s. I can't think of a good reason that I can't lathe turn the seat/crimp die until I can get full seated depth and roll crimp. Am I missing something?

I wholeheartedly agree! I have a Lee FCD for all three, but I don't think that will be an issue.
I shoot all 3 from my Ruger SBH's as well as the S&W #3 Russian and am pleased with the results.

I shortened a Lyman .44 Special Seat and Crimp die for .44 Colt (modern, not rebated bullet). Just a hair longer than the .44 Russian. The expander die was adjustable far enough to work without modification. Of course, the sizing die didn't care how short the cases are.

You are correct, shortening the seat/crimp die at the base will work just fine.
