.32 die for two .32s?

I have a Walther .32 auto and just purchased a cute little S&W 1903 hand ejector in .32 S&W Long. I wonder if I could get away with one set of dies to load both of these calibers. I'm thinking maybe I could load the longs with the .32 Auto dies. I would appreciate any opinions on this, and maybe I can save about 30 bucks......:Fire:

The Carbide RCBS dies I have will load .32ACP, .32SWL, .32SW, and .32HRM, the die set I have come with two seaters, and two different expanders. one long one short.
When I got this die set, the sizer was too tight, RCBS opened the die up to fit my brass, good people to deal with.
I have never loaded .32ACP, but I do load .32SW long and .32HR mag
The dies I have use a roll crimp on the seater, for .32ACP you might need a LEE factory crimp or a tapered crimp die.

I had to find the box
on the label
Group b, part # 21112, shell holder 17/23
3 die carbide set 32 ACP S/W long

stamped 81 on top of the die, indicating the year made
I bought them around that time
after looking in the box I remember that when I sent them back because the sizer seemed too tight, and I was shooting wadcutters, RCBS opened the die up, loaded three rounds as a test, and supplied another expander to fit the bullets I was using.

I use the Lee die set (I prefer Lee's four die set that includes the Factory Crimp Die). I load .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Magnum with those dies.

my 32 auto will not chamber on 312/311 bullets, but does fine with 308/309.
i use my 32auto lee loader with hrndy 95xtp's resized to 3085 in a lee push thru die...

the pistol is spanish from aprox 1900....it has not been fully identified....even by spanish pistol "expets"


the 308 vs 312 id something to check on your 32 auto.

My 32 acp is a PP Walther. It too will not chamber with a cast bullet that is over .310 and especially with the thicker Federal cases. I know you said a Hornady. Depends on how tight the chamber are on them.
