Questions about ordering an Accurate 43-215C mold.

Questions.

Body diameter? I would like the boolits to drop at .429 so do I order the body diameter at .429?

Bullet alloy? Range lead? As far as lead goes here, a little of everything from hard cast, to unknown, to soft. I reuse what ever lead I run across. Most of the soft stuff I save for my 45-70.

Thinking 2 cavity iron blocks. As I have better luck with iron than aluminum or brass.

I've never ordered a custom mold before and would like to get it right!

MEASURE the cylinder throat diameters with zz- minus pin gages or by driving a dead-soft, pure lead round ball through each charge hole and measuring with a micrometer. For a rifle do a pound cast of the origin of rifling, the unrifled section forward of the case mouth and the chamber neck diameter.

IGNORE the groove diameter of your barrel!!!!!!

Order the largest bullet which chambers without resistance.

With Accurate you can specify your alloy and whether want the 0.002 tolerance negative, positive or centered. I normally order nose tolerance north of crimp groove negative and driving bands centered.
