I got my Pachmayr grips for my Ruger SBH 44 mag but haven't had a chance to try them yet. I have to admit at first glance they seem to me to be kind of cheaply made. I guess you get what you pay for. It will be worth it to me though if they help in preventing damage to my middle finger when shooting.

Almost all of my wheelsguns wear either Pachmayr or Hogue rubber grips. Only exceptions that come to mind are a Lew Horton M24 S&W with roundbutt factory grips too pretty to take off and a .357 flattop BH that carries its original wood. I admit that Pachmayrs ain't pretty...'specially on a sixgun...but they're genuine knuckle savers.

Once you get by the uglyness, you soon learn how much more comfortable they can make the heavy kickers.

They remind me of a Glock, ugly, but effective! You don't have to worry about scratching them up as they are already ugly.

Finally got to try the 44 mag with the Pachmayr grips today with full power loads and all I can say is you guys were right. Money well spent. No finger busting at all. Was really nice not to have to anticipate the pain that was to follow after shooting. Thanks [smilie=s:
